The role of schwa in syllabification has been a challenging phenomenon in Moroccan Arabic (MA), and, consequently, defining syllable boundaries has been a thorny issue. This paper uses data of spontaneous speech to reveal that syllabification would be better understood when it is considered within the larger frame of prosody.
