Road air pollution harms the reproductive success of a bee‐pollinated wildflower: A dusty threat to biodiversity

Dust, a common form of air pollution, is particularly problematic on roadsides, which are important habitats for plants and pollinators. We investigated whether and how road dust affects plant sexual reproduction using Primula chungensis in a biodiversity hotspot. Take flight: predation risk induces wing polyphenism and dispersal in the aphid Myzus persicae

Predator risk above a critical density induces winged morphs in Myzus persicae, promoting dispersal and reducing predation compared with wingless aphids. This density‐dependent phenotypic plasticity enhances survival but may compromise biological control by facilitating aphid dispersal.
