Design of a scalable trailing edge of morphing wings
2014 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO 2014), 2014A networking mechanism was designed based on scalable trailing edge to satisfy the requirements of morphing wings. By this way, we can increase the lift coefficient and the aerodynamic efficiency of the aircraft in the process of taking off and landing. We use Lagrange equations to set up the system dynamics model.

A morphing trailing edge device for a wind turbine
Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2012The loads on wind turbine components are primarily from the blades. It is important to control these loads in order to avoid damaging the wind turbine. Rotor control technology is currently limited to controlling the rotor speed and the blade pitch.

Multi-parametric flutter analysis of a morphing wing trailing edge
The Aeronautical Journal, 2014AbstractThe development of adaptive morphing wings has been individuated as one of the crucial topics in the greening of the next generation air transport. Research programs are currently running worldwide to exploit the potentiality of morphing concepts in the optimisation of aircraft efficiency and in the consequent reduction of fuel burn.

Control System Design for a Morphing Wing Trailing Edge
2016Shape control of adaptive wings has the potential to improve wing aerodynamic performance in off-design conditions. A possible way to attain this objective is to implement specific technologies for trailing edge morphing, aimed at changing the airfoil camber.

Manufacturing and Testing of Smart Morphing SARISTU Trailing Edge
2015Increasing environmental awareness and increasing fuel prices push aircraft industry to enhance aircraft efficiency. Morphing is considered a promising technology for future and next-generation aircrafts. Morphing aircraft changes its external geometry significantly during flight which moderates the design requirements.

Modeling and Design on Trailing Edge of Morphing Wing
2015Morphing wing can change its shape to improve the aerodynamic characteristics. In this paper the concept of multiple-hinges’ type spectrum is presented. A new type synthesis method for planar kinematic chains is developed. Focus on 7-bar mechanisms the type synthesis is carried out. Based on the results, the trailing edge design scheme is setup.

Structural design and optimization of a morphing wing trailing edge flap
Aerospace Systems, 2018This paper presents the structural design and optimization process of a morphing wing trailing edge (TE) flap. The flap consists of flexible upper and lower skins and various connections that constrains the relative motion between the upper and lower skins, and is actuated by an eccentric beam to which several discs of variable radii and setting angles
