Ionogel Actuators: A Review

open access: yesSmartBot, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
Ionogels dynamically and functionally couple ionic liquids with polymer networks, enabling multiscale programmable deformation and motion under electrical, magnetic, optical, thermal, humidity, and chemical stimuli. This article systematically elucidates the constituent components, structural design, and multiscale actuation mechanisms of ionogel ...

Shaping Function: Polymeric 3D Systems With Unconventional Geometries for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 33, 12 June 2026.
Particle shape is a key design parameter governing biological interactions. Advances in fabrication enable precise control over anisotropy and compartmentalization, allowing modulation of cellular uptake, transport, and biodistribution, ultimately enhancing therapeutic performance. ABSTRACT Polymer geometry is a primary determinant of physical behavior

Behavioral Responses of Two Common Woodland Salamanders to Novel Urban Stimuli

open access: yesEthology, Volume 132, Issue 6, Page 430-439, June 2026.
We examined behavioral responses of the Eastern Red‐backed Salamander (Plethodon cinereus) and Northern Ravine Salamander (P. electromorphus) to novel urban stimuli. The Northern Ravine Salamander exhibited increased thigmotaxis in the presence of concrete pavers simulating roads and walkways.

Intravital Monitoring of Psoriasis Treatment Response and Drug Delivery Using Multiphoton Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging

open access: yesSkin Research and Technology, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Multiphoton tomography equipped with fluorescence lifetime imaging (MPT‐FLIM) is a novel noninvasive imaging technique for analyzing morphological and metabolic states of skin diseases at a subcellular resolution. The present study is the first to establish MPT‐FLIM as an imaging modality to monitor treatment response in psoriasis ...
