Morphodynamic Evolution and Adaptability of Nourished Beaches
Journal of Coastal Research, 2019Liu, G.; Cai, F.; Qi, H.; Zhu, J., and Liu, J., 2019. Morphodynamic evolution and adaptability of nourished beaches. Journal of Coastal Research, 35(4), 737–750. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.Beach nourishment has been widely used for coastal protection in China. However, few beaches have been monitored after nourishment, and the evolution of

Three‐Dimensional Flow Structures and Morphodynamic Evolution of Microtidal Meandering Channels
Water Resources Research, 2020AbstractThe planform evolution of tidal meanders is driven by interactions between channel morphology and periodically reversing tidal flows, which feed back into the development of erosional and depositional patterns. However, the paucity of quantitative data has so far undermined detailed analyses about the geomorphic effects of tidal flows within ...

Morphodynamic evolution of experimental cohesive deltas
Journal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, 2009Here we describe new techniques for creating river‐dominated (birds foot) deltas with strong channelization in the laboratory. The key to achieving strong self‐channelization is the addition of a commercially available polymer to the sediment mixture.

Coastal morphodynamic evolution techniques
Coastal Engineering, 2006Abstract In this paper different strategies of morphological updating, as an important component of integrated modelling, are discussed, starting with the classical ‘tide-averaging’ approach in combination with the ‘continuity correction.’ An extension of the ‘continuity correction’ method, the so-called ‘RAM’ method, is then discussed.

Long‐term evolution and morphodynamic equilibrium of tidal channels
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 2002This contribution investigates the morphodynamic equilibrium of funnel‐shaped well‐mixed estuaries and/or tidal channels. The one‐dimensional de Saint Venant and Exner equations are solved numerically for the ideal case of a frictionally dominated estuary consisting of noncohesive sediment and with insignificant intertidal storage of water in tidal

Morphodynamic evolution of a macrotidal barrier estuary
Marine Geology, 1995Abstract The morphodynamics and recent geological evolution of a small barrier estuary were investigated. The estuary is located on the macrotidal central Queensland coastline and is characterised by an almost infilled back-barrier basin colonised by mangroves.

Modelling morphodynamic evolution of river dunes
2006River dunes influence the hydraulic roughness and water levels in rivers. Especially during floods the interplay between dunes and the flow field could become significant. Therefore, it is desired to forecast the dimensions of dunes during such extreme and unsteady flood events.
