Morphological classification of post-AGB stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We present a complete study of the morphology of post-Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars. Post-AGB is a very short evolutionary phase between the end of the AGB and the beginning of the Planetary Nebula (PN) stage (between 100 and 10,000 yrs).

Clinical Characteristics and Prognostic Risk Factors for Pediatric B‐Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma: A Multicenter Retrospective Cohort Study for China Net Childhood Lymphoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (B‐LBL) represents a rare variety of non‐Hodgkin lymphoma, with limited research on its biology, progression, and management. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical characteristics of 256 patients aged ≤18 years who received treatment under the China Net Childhood Lymphoma (CNCL)‐

The Interplay of Semantics and Morphology in Word Embeddings

open access: yes, 2017
We explore the ability of word embeddings to capture both semantic and morphological similarity, as affected by the different types of linguistic properties (surface form, lemma, morphological tag) used to compose the representation of each word.

Probing dark energy with steerable wavelets through correlation of WMAP and NVSS local morphological measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Using local morphological measures on the sphere defined through a steerable wavelet analysis, we examine the three-year WMAP and the NVSS data for correlation induced by the integrated Sachs-Wolfe (ISW) effect. The steerable wavelet constructed from the

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Morphological Disambiguation by Voting Constraints

open access: yes, 1997
We present a constraint-based morphological disambiguation system in which individual constraints vote on matching morphological parses, and disambiguation of all the tokens in a sentence is performed at the end by selecting parses that receive the ...

Morphological snakes

open access: yes2010 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2010
We introduce a morphological approach to curve evolution. The differential operators used in the standard PDE snake models can be approached using morphological operations on a binary level set. By combining the morphological operators associated to the PDE components we achieve a new snakes evolution algorithm.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Plastomes Provide Insights into Differences between Morphology and Molecular Phylogeny: Ostericum and Angelica (Apiaceae) as an Example

open access: yesDiversity, 2022
Traditional classification based on morphological characters suggests that the genus Ostericum is closely related to Angelica, but molecular phylogenetic studies suggest that the genus Ostericum is related to Pternopetalum rather than Angelica.
