Borderline cases in morphology
The aim of this study is to show how languages may change. To this end, three processes of non-morphemic word formation are analyzed: suffix reinterpretation, clipping and blending. An example of suffix reinterpretation is the development from Dutch -loog as in bioloog into -oloog as in deskundoloog.

Case stacking in realizational morphology [PDF]
Case stacking, the phenomenon whereby a single word may bear multiple cases reflecting its relation to a number of different syntactic elements, is an important phenomenon both for the development of theories of inflectional morphology and for our understanding of the relation between morphology and syntax. However, to date it has received virtually no

ABSTRACT Relapsed and/or refractory (R/R) pediatric acute leukemia carries a dismal prognosis, largely driven by chemoresistance to conventional salvage therapy. The BH3‐mimetic venetoclax, combined with chemotherapy or hypomethylating agents, has demonstrated efficacy in small clinical trials.

Background: Morphological changes of a stented artery can cause a flow diversion effect to reduce intra-aneurysmal flow; however, there is a potential for the negative effect of increased intra-aneurysmal flow.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Joint Morphological and Syntactic Disambiguation [PDF]
In morphologically rich languages, should morphological and syntactic disambiguation be treated sequentially or as a single problem? We describe several efficient, probabilistically-interpretable ways to apply joint inference to morphological and ...
