Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Morphological characterisation and agronomical parameters of different species of Salvia sp. (Lamiaceae)

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The aim of this work is to assess the morphological characteristics and parameters of biomass production, such as fresh and dry matter weight (FMW and DMW, g/plant), yield of dry matter (YDM) in terms of ton/ha, essential oil content (EOC, mL/100 g) and ...

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

STRUCTURE OF BOXERS´ MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

open access: yes, 2008
We wanted to help solving the problems we meet every day, and through this research we did. Research was done on population of boxers 15-19 years old, who compete in Serbian Youth League. We keep being asked: “How big is the morphological characteristics

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Influence of the Irrigation Times and Wastewater Concentration of Leaven Production Plant on Some Morphological Characteristics and Yield of Wheat in Qaramalek Region of Tabriz [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Science and Sustainable Production, 2016
In order to assess the effects of wastewater of Iran Mayeh company on some morphological characteristics and yield of wheat, a factorial experiment based on randomized complete block design (RCBD) was conducted in three replications during 2012-13.

[Morphological characteristics of spreaders].

open access: yesGiornale italiano di endodonzia, 1992
Different kinds of spreaders can be used in the lateral condensation technique. Selection of condensation instruments must not be empirical because the quality of the filling partly depends on the compatibility between the spreader and the prepared root canal.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...
