Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Dual native G‐quadruplex folding is associated with chromatin looping at the MYC locus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
BG4‐detectable G‐quadruplex (G4) in HaCaT and NHEK keratinocytes identified folded and unfolded G4s enriched at promoters/TSSs and active enhancers, whereas unfolded G4s also overlapped weak/poised enhancers. At MYC–PVT1, 3C‐qPCR detected enhancer–promoter looping only when G4s were simultaneously folded at both regulatory elements under native ...

Morpho-orthographic segmentation on visual word recognition in Brazilian Portuguese speakers

open access: yesPsicologia: Reflexão e Crítica
Objective Studies have demonstrated a morphological decomposition process in the initial stages of visual word recognition based on orthographically defined morphemes and independent of semantic and lexical information.

Avidin is evolutionarily conserved in fish but dispensable for development and resistance against Streptococcus agalactiae in zebrafish

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

3-dimensional measurements of morphological properties of particles

open access: yes, 1996
Morphological properties of particles are important in mineral processing. Flotation recoveries are affected by surface roughness and acuteness of particles.

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Identification and characterisation of calcitonin receptor isoforms expressed in glioblastoma derived glioma stem and U‐87 MG cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma cells express calcitonin receptor variants (CT receptor isoforms) that may help them survive stress. Using qPCR, transcript‐specific long‐read nanopore sequencing, immunofluorescence co‐localisation and comparative sequence analysis, this study identifies a novel alternatively spliced CALCR transcript that encodes the CTb receptor isoform ...

MORPHOLOGICAL IMAGE PROCESSİNG WITH FUZZY LOGIC

open access: yesHavacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Dergisi, 2006
In this paper, fuzzy morpuhological image processing is explained and reviewed. Based on the mathematical morphology rules, fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic theorem fuzzy morphology operations are defined.

The development of morphological processing in reading Chinese

open access: yes, 2008
Morphological awareness is important for the development of reading. Base on the studies of morphological processing in reading, three processing models were proposed: the Interactive Constituency Model (Tan & Perfetti, 1999), Taft, Liu, & Zhu’s (1999)

Using cell‐free RNA to identify B‐ and T‐cell clonality for diagnosis and monitoring of B‐ and T‐cell neoplasms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using peripheral blood for determining B‐cell or T‐cell clonality is more reliable when we use cell‐free RNA (cfRNA) because cells release blood significantly more RNA than DNA. Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) of cfRNA allows us to evaluate fragment cfRNA and evaluate clonality reliably without the need for prior determination of the specific dominant
