Morphology and Properties of Pericytes
2010Pericytes were described in 1873 by the French scientist Charles-Marie Benjamin Rouget and were originally called Rouget cells. The Rouget cell was renamed some years later due to its anatomical location abluminal to the endothelial cell (EC) and luminal to parenchymal cells.

Membrane morphology and transport properties
Desalination, 1985Abstract By changing properly the preparation conditions, it is possible starting from the same polymer to obtain asymmetric membranes with different morphology and U.F. performances. The SEM cross-section give us information about the overall structure.

Root properties of morphological filters
Signal Processing, 1993Abstract The characterization of the root signal sets of the most common digital morphological filters is presented in this paper. This has proven very crucial in understandinng the utility and usefulness of these nonlinear operators. Important deterministic properties of root signals of morphological opening, closing, open-closing and clos-opening ...

Morphologic Properties of Bat Wings
Journal of Mammalogy, 1972(Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) A method was devised for estimating aspect ratio, wing ratiOj wing area, wing loading, and wing length from study skins of bats. These measures were taken of 136 species representing 15 families. Wing area and loading are positively, and wing length negatively, correlated with size.

Ammonothermal GaN: Morphology and properties
Journal of Crystal Growth, 2010Bulk crystals of gallium nitride have been grown using the ammonothermal method. Seeded growth resulted in thick, faceted GaN specimens. The crystal habit was identified and consisted of a hexagonal prism with pyramidal facets. Fast growth rates were observed on the nitrogen face and in the a-direction.

Property Leading to Morphological Instability
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 2011This letter describes that morphological instabilities, such as the nonsimplification of the interface and the increase in interface perturbation, which are required for the formation of matters with complex appearance, is caused by a property, that is, “the driving force of interface development that increases with the increase in curvature”, with the

Carbon nanotubules: morphology and properties
Fibre Chemistry, 2011The morphology and sorption characteristics of carbon nanotubules of different types were investigated. Experiments were conducted on separating individual carbon nanotubules from agglomerates with mechanical, electric arc, and ultrasound effects. Fractionation of suspensions of nanotubules combined with ultrasound treatment is the most promising.

Morphology and Properties of Astrocytes
2010Astrocytes were identified about 150 years ago, and, for the longest time, were considered to be supporting cells in the brain providing trophic, metabolic, and structural support for neural networks. Research in the last 2 decades has uncovered many novel molecules in astrocytes and the finding that astrocytes communicate with neurons via Ca2 ...

Asymmetric microcellular composites: Morphological properties
Journal of Cellular Plastics, 2014Asymmetric microcellular composites were prepared by injection molding to study the effects of temperature gradient inside the mold (0 to 60℃) as well as blowing agent (0 to 1%) and natural fibers (0 to 30%) contents. High-density polyethylene, flax fiber, and azodicarbonamide were used as the matrix, reinforcement, and chemical blowing agent ...
