PARTICLE MORPHOLOGY AND BULK PROPERTIES

Particulate Science and Technology, 1983
ABSTRACT Experimental results relating bulk properties to newly developed shape terms are presented in this paper. The properties studied are tap density, apparent density, processing parameter, flow time, and angle of internal friction of several materials. The correlations obtained demonstrate the utility and the potential of morphological analysis.

Morphological Properties of Vestibulospinal Neurons in Primates

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2003
AbstractThe lateral and medial vestibulospinal tracts constitute the major descending pathways controlling extensor musculature of the body. We examined the axon morphology and synaptic input patterns and targets in the cervical spinal segments from these tract cells using intracellular recording and biocytin labeling in the squirrel monkey ...

Magnetic and Morphological Properties of CoCu Nanowires

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2014
Heterogeneous CoCu nanowires containing different amounts of Co (up to 50% at. wt of Co) are made by electro-deposition (ED) method. CoCu nanowires were grown in AAO templates by varying the current density. The diameter of CoCu nanowires was around 40 nm. Therefore, the growing of CoCu nanowires was compacted with the diameter of AAO templates.

Morphology and surface properties of fumed silicas

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2005
Several series of fumed silicas and mixed fumed oxides produced and treated under different conditions were studied in gaseous and liquid media using nitrogen and water adsorption-desorption, mass spectrometry, FTIR, NMR, thermally stimulated depolarization current (TSDC), photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS), zeta potential, potentiometric titration,

Morphologies and Bridging Properties of Graft Copolymers

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2006
Morphologies and bridging properties of graft copolymers in the bulk state were studied by using a real-space algorithm of self-consistent field theory in two dimensions. The phase transition from cylindrical to lamellar phase can be triggered by changing the position of graft points and the number of branches.

Morphological foundations of fiber properties

Journal of Polymer Science Part C: Polymer Symposia, 1965
AbstractStructural theories which have been developed to interpret the chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of fibers are reviewed, with particular emphasis on the natural fibers. It is pointed out that many of the current theories of fiber structure derive from early concepts of the natural cellulosic or vegetable fibers.

Bi2S3 nanomaterials: morphology manipulation and related properties

Dalton Transactions, 2011
The Bi(2)S(3) nanomaterials with various morphologies such as nanorods, nanowires, nanowire bundles, urchin-like microspheres and urchin-like microspheres with cavities have been successfully synthesized through a simple hydrothermal method. Experimental results indicate that sulfur sources play crucial roles in determining the morphologies of Bi(2)S(3)

Morphology and Properties of Hair

2018
This chapter discusses briefly the chemistry of keratin fibers needed to understand the nature of a wider spectrum of events within these fibers. Hair fibers form a major component of the outer covering for most mammals. They create a physical barrier between the animal and its environment, and have evolved as a result of their necessary exposure to ...

Morphological properties of mouse retinal ganglion cells

Neuroscience, 2006
The mouse retina offers an increasingly valuable model for vision research given the possibilities for genetic manipulation. Here we assess how the structural properties of mouse retinal ganglion cells relate to the stratification pattern of the dendrites of these neurons within the inner plexiform layer.

Property/Morphology Relationships in Glasses

1983
Many properties of glasses are sensitive to the morphology of the particular samples studied1–4. These properties can he subdivided into three classes: those which are only slightly sensitive to the presence of phase separation and insensitive to the details of the microstructure (density, refractive index, thermal expansion coefficient), those which ...
