Morphological analysis of common Akeanon dialect variations / Ersyl T. Biray [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Akeanon is a distinctive language spoken in different dialects spread in geographical locations in Aklan province in Panay Island, thus, Akeanon Buruangganon, Akeanon Nabasnon, and Akeanon Bukidnon dialect variations emerged distinct from the standard ...

Fluctuating asymmetry in evaluating the developmental instability of Glossogobius giuris (Hamilton, 1822) from Lake Mainit, Surigao del Norte, Philippines [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Ecology and Software, 2016
This study was conducted to assess the status of Lake Mainit by using fluctuating asymmetry in the populations of Glossogobius giuris. A total of 200 G. giuris was collected with 100 per sex.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

A very rare case of the accessory palmaris longus muscle and clinical significance

open access: yesFolia Morphologica
The palmaris longus muscle is located in the forearm region. Its morphological variability was noted during standard anatomical dissection of the upper limb. The muscle was characterised by a normal course, i.e.

Seasonal morphological variations in bird schistosomes

open access: yesParasite, 2006
The present work is a contribution to the systematics of Bilharziella and Dendritobilharzia. Wildfowl was killed in hunting seasons or found dead in Champagne-Ardenne region, France, and autopsied with focus on schistosomes.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Variation of Small Intestinal Morphology with age [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Disease in Childhood, 1972
A study of small intestinal three-dimensional morphology from 85 childhood necropsies, using the dissecting microscope, has shown that there is a variation in morphology with age. While finger-like villi occurred frequently in the small intestine of neonates, particularly in the ileum, broader villi occurred more frequently in children aged between 5 ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Leaf morphological variations and heterophylly in Ficus deltoidea Jack (Moraceae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Six varieties of Ficus deltoidea Jack (Moraceae) showed leaf morphological variations through quantitative measurement on different plant parts. There were significant differences among six varieties studied by plant parts. The varieties studied include
