Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Variations in the Morphology of Foramen Lacerum

Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2020
Abstract Greater petrosal and deep petrosal nerves unite in foramen lacerum to form vidian nerve which innervate lacrimal, buccal, nasopharynx, and nasal glands. Moreover, the superior part of this foramen transmits lacerum part of internal carotid artery which irrigates major part of brain.

The Morphological Variations of Fibrous Histiocytomas

Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 1974
The morphological variants of dermal fibrous histiocytomas have engendered a confusing terminology. One hundred and eighty‐nine cases of fibrous histiocytomas were studied in order to define the morphological spectrum exhibited by these lesions.Based on the prevailing morphological components, fibrocollagenous, vascular, or histiocytie.

Variations of Capitate Morphology in the Wrist

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2008
This anatomical study details and categorizes variations in capitate morphology and associated structures in the human cadaveric wrist. We dissected 107 cadaveric wrists. Capitate morphology, the presence of capitate and hamate ridges, the lunate types, and the width of the medial hamate facet of type II lunates and 4th carpometacarpal joint types were ...
