Vertebral Morphometry

Radiologic Clinics of North America, 2003
Visual semiquantitative (SQ) assessment of the radiographs by a trained and experienced observer is the "gold standard" method to detect vertebral fractures. Vertebral morphometry is a quantitative method to identify osteoporotic vertebral fractures based on the measurement of vertebral heights.

Morphometry of the adrenals [PDF]

open access: possibleBulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1977
The authors report on the method of determination of the weight indices of the adrenyl gland glomerular, testicular-reticular and medullar zones with a spheroid shape; it is substantiated by mathematical analysis of a plasticine model of the adrenal gland, whose characteristics approached the actual ones.

Vertebral Morphometry

Journal of Clinical Densitometry, 2016
There is as yet no agreement about the criteria by which to arrive at an imaging diagnosis of a vertebral fracture. Because high-grade fractures result in alterations in vertebral shape, 1 possible avenue of diagnosis has been to quantitate changes in vertebral shape.

Testis Morphometry in Varicocele

Archives of Andrology, 1985
This study was conducted to evaluate morphometrically the microscopic components of the testis in cases of varicocele, the leading cause of male infertility, with the aim to identify consistent differences from controls. In our specimens of patients with varicocele, the vascular and interstitial fractions, as well as the Leydig cell count, were ...

Practical nerve morphometry

Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 2006
Histopathological examination of peripheral nerves is often complemented by morphometric analysis in both clinical and research settings. However, existing manual or semi-automated methods are highly tedious, labour intensive and time-consuming, whereas fully automated morphometry is prone to error from the conversion of maldetected particles to ...

Morphometry of the breast fibroadenoma

Pathology - Research and Practice, 1986
This work is concerned with a morphometric analysis of 23 breast fibroadenomas subdivided into four histological subgroups from purely pericanalicular to purely endocanalicular forms. The volume fractions (Vv) of the lumina and the total volume: epithelial surface ratios (Sv) showed a significant (P less than 0.001) correlation (r = + 0.64).

Intelligent Platelet Morphometry

Trends in Biotechnology, 2021
Technological advances in image-based platelet analysis or platelet morphometry are critical for a better understanding of the structure and function of platelets in biological research as well as for the development of better clinical strategies in medical practice.

Bone Morphometry in Alcoholics

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1982
The osteoclast activity (number of osteoclasts per surface bone section) and the osteoid abundance (percentage of trabecular bone surface covered with osteoid) were measured in iliac crest biopsies from 38 men with alcoholism. These patients had histories of decades of over-consumption of alcohol and repeated injuries, as well as medical complications.
