Cosmogenic 26Al/10Be ratios are used to quantify the spatial–temporal processes of landscape change in the Pilbara since the Plio‐Pleistocene. We compare long‐term catchment denudation rates from bedrock and river sediments and explore the potential mechanisms underlying their complex exposure history through a source‐to‐sink approach.

Morphotectonic and Morphometric analysis of Vishav Basin left bank Tributary of Jhelum River SW Kashmir Valley India [PDF]
Morphotectonics interplays between the landscape development and the tectonics. Usually, the development of many geomorphic features has been related solely to exogenic and nontectonic causes but many of them are developed mainly due to the prevailing ...

Black Sea Morphotectonic Nature
Abstract The presence of oceanic crust on the Black Sea bottom indicates that this sea basin was a section - a Pontic Ocean gulf at the northern margin of the Phanerozoic Tethys Ocean. The late Phanerozoic subduction of the Tethys oceanic crust under the European continental massif in this area took place in the subduction zone, whose ...

Morphotectonic development of the Marmara Region
Abstract The Marmara Region of northwest Turkey covers the Marmara Sea Basin and the surrounding lands. In the region, morphologically different areas may be distinguished. The Marmara Sea Basin is a structural depression. The land to the north is known as the Thrace-Kocaeli Peneplain, a flatland elevated above a horst. This may be referred to as the

The Evolution of the Cocos‐North America‐Caribbean Triple Junction From Detrital Zircon Analysis
Abstract The tectonic framework and Cenozoic evolution of the Cocos–North America–Caribbean (Co–NA–Ca) triple junction remain subjects of major geological importance due to their complexity and regional impact. New U–Pb zircon geochronology of detrital sediments and detailed structural and geomorphic mapping from southern Chiapas, Mexico, provide ...

Deformation and Sediment Provenance of the Forearc Basin in the Central Andes of Southern Peru
Abstract The linkages between the development of the forearc regions and the accompanying retroarc in contractional mountain belts remain unclear. In the central Andes of southern Peru, new results constrain the timing of deformation and the provenance of forearc basin fill during Cenozoic mountain building.

Horizontal coseismic deformation of the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake measured from SPOT satellite images: Implications for the seismic cycle along the western foothills of central Taiwan [PDF]
The 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake, M_w = 7.6, broke a major thrust fault along the western foothills of the Central Range of Taiwan. We have measured the horizontal coseismic displacement field by correlating optical satellite images acquired before and after ...

Abstract Understanding the relationship between surface and deep geological processes in tectonically active settings is crucial for unraveling the factors controlling landscape evolution and topographic growth. Here, we present the first basin‐averaged 10Be‐derived denudation rates for the Albanides, a subduction orogen in the Central Mediterranean ...

Characteristics of direct human impacts on the rivers Karun and Dez in lowland south-west Iran and their interactions with earth surface movements [PDF]
Two of the primary external factors influencing the variability of major river systems, over river reach scales, are human activities and tectonics.
