Reviving the Macrobrachium rosenbergii (de Man) fishery in Vembanad Lake, India [PDF]
In Vembanad Lake and its confluent rivers (Kerala, India), the catches of Macrobrachium rosenbergii (de Man) were reported to have dwindled to a mere 39 t in the 1980s from average landings of 300 t during the 1960s.

Forest type influence on Heliconia‐dipteran interaction networks
Responses to forest type depended on the developmental stage of dipterans. Bract traits and forest type influenced larval abundance, but forest type had no impact on adult alpha and beta diversity. Heliconia‐dipteran interaction networks showed a nested pattern for both forest types.

Morphotype-specific calcium signaling in human microglia
AbstractKey functions of Ca2+signaling in rodent microglia include monitoring the brain state or the surrounding neuronal activity and sensing the danger or damage in their vicinity. Microglial Ca2+dyshomeostasis is a disease hallmark in many mouse models of neurological disorders but the Ca2+signal properties of human microglia remain unknown. Using a

Orchards supported the highest wild bee diversity and functional diversity, highlighting their role in maintaining bee communities in Mediterranean agroecosystems. Landscape heterogeneity positively influenced functional evenness and dispersion of wild bee communities, underscoring the importance of diverse landscapes for bee conservation. The presence

Periodontitis and Periodontal Conditions in Systemically Healthy Children and Adolescents
ABSTRACT Objective To answer the PICoS question ‘in systemically healthy children and adolescents (Population), what are the main features of periodontitis, necrotising periodontal diseases (NPD) and other periodontal conditions (periodontal abscesses, endo‐periodontal lesions, traumatic occlusal forces, prosthesis‐ and tooth‐related factors ...

ABSTRACT Objective To propose buccal dehiscence morphotypes and discuss their impact on the regenerative potential and strategy in immediate implant placement (IIP). Clinical Considerations Eleven buccal dehiscence morphotypes could be identified based on vertical and lateral extent, and facial soft tissue support. Two morphotypes should not be treated

Multiple scale analysis of genetic diversity in sorghum [PDF]
Crop species are characterised by their intimate association with human populations, their history and their practices and needs. In long domesticated crops, migration can have expanded gradually within continents and jumped between continents, shaping ...

Abstract Deep‐sea elasmobranchs are less resilient to the increasing scale of anthropogenic impacts such as fisheries, owing to their life‐history traits. The necessity for proper management measures is hampered by the scant knowledge on these taxa and their biology. Here we provide the first comprehensive insight into the parasite infracommunities and

Abstract Characidium tupi, a new species from rivers draining the southern portion of the Northeastern Mata Atlantica Freshwater Ecoregion, is described. The new species can be distinguished from all congeners by its colour pattern, including 7–14 dark bars enlarged and more conspicuous on their ventralmost portion, resulting in a longitudinal series ...
