Abstract The three mammalian auditory ossicles enhance sound transmission from the tympanic membrane to the inner ear. The anterior anchoring of the malleus is one of the key characters for functional classification of the auditory ossicles. Previous studies revealed a medial outgrowth of the mallear anterior process, the processus internus ...

Understanding the Workflows in Non‐Guided and Static Computer‐Assisted Implant Surgery
ABSTRACT Contemporary implant dentistry aims to achieve long‐term biological, esthetic, and functional successful outcomes. Thus, instrumental to this aim is designing an integrated system in which the supported prosthesis & components, anatomical and phenotypical tissue characteristics, and the fixture act synergistically to maintain peri‐implant ...

The two color morphs of the Iberian–Atlantic Paramuricea complex show little genetic divergence, and their species boundaries have remained unclear. By analyzing gametogenesis, spawning timing, fertilization environment, and early life‐history traits, we reveal strong prezygotic barriers and divergent developmental and dispersal strategies between the ...

Global Drivers of Plant–Pollinator Interaction Specialization in Gardens
Using global citizen science data from the Covid lockdown, we show that garden plant and pollinator richness respond to distinct ecological and human factors, while specialization is species‐specific. ABSTRACT The frequency of plant–pollinator interactions is shaped by abiotic (e.g., climate and land use characteristics) and biotic factors (e.g ...

Are Toxic Butterflies More Easily Detected by Human ‘Predators’?
Aposematic signals are often thought to be conspicuous and stable across environments. Yet, butterflies can have distinct colours on their dorsal and ventral sides which contradict this prediction. We found that despite toxic butterflies having similar detectability on both sides, only dorsal detectability positively correlated with toxicity.
