Cancer of the Urinary Bladder Neovagina in a Patient with Morris’ Syndrome

Vaginal agenesis is a rare condition, therefore the incidence of a malignant transformation in the neovagina is extremely low.We report on a 42-year-old patient with Morris' syndrome and urinary bladder neovagina with a history of prolonged infections of the urinary bladder and intertrigo of the perineal region.

[The testicular feminization syndrome (Morris' syndrome)].

The syndrome of testicular feminization is characterized by female phenotype in the presence of male gonads and has a population frequency of 1:20,000 to 1:60,000. The authors report of 2 cases with this syndrome. Its rarity, diagnostic evaluation and follow-up by the gynecologist are of interest.

[Sex change in children with Morris syndrome].

Eleven boys with Morris syndrome underwent feminizing genitoplasty utilizing a segment of the sigmoid colon for neovaginal reconstruction. Bilateral orchiectomy was performed for cosmetic reasons and to prevent neoplasms. Patient follow-up ranging from 6 months to 13 years have demonstrated good results were obtained.

Laparoscopic Surgery - A Feasible Treatment in Morris Syndrome

Morris Syndrome is a pathological condition which needs a special approach regarding both diagnosis and treatment because of its rarity. While the diagnosis is based on karyotype test, the treatment should follow the idea of harmless and cosmetic benefits as well as complete gonads removal.

[Four cases of Morris syndrome a familial study].

A case of feminizing testicle in a family with 9 children, of which girls, has been reported by the authors. A familial study showed 4 out of the 7 girls to be affected by the same disease. The mother, aged 81, presented with no anomaly, save the absence of pubic hair.
