Behaviour of Temperate Reef Fish Species Around Oyster Aquaculture Farms and Natural Rock Reefs
ABSTRACT Cultivation of eastern oysters using aquaculture gear increases habitat for temperate reef fish. Cunner (Tautogolabrus adspersus), scup (Stenotomus chrysops) and tautog (Tautoga onitis) inhabit a variety of complex natural and manmade habitats, including oyster aquaculture cage farms.

As environmental variability increases, as a function of climate change, communities will be less synchronous as species fluctuate more independently of each other. Species will contribute to community synchrony differently, based on their functional feeding groups. ABSTRACT Environments are becoming increasingly more variable, as a function of climate

We investigated low American oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus) productivity in the Virginia barrier islands, which historically supported high oystercatcher reproductive success. We found that chick survival was lower than nest survival, and that management may need to adapt to address evolving threats from coastal flooding and a multi‐guild ...

Abstract Carbonate mineral production and dissolution regulate atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations via modulation of the ocean alkalinity content. The anthropogenic rise in atmospheric CO2 reduces calcification rates and enhances calcium carbonate dissolution, which increases ocean alkalinity, counteracts acidification, and stimulates ocean
