Discrete Morse Functions from Fourier Transforms
A discrete Morse function on a simplicial complex describes how to construct a homotopy-equivalent CW-complex with possibly fewer cells. We associate a Boolean function with a given simplicial complex and construct a discrete Morse function using its ...

Abstract Intranasal diamorphine (IND), approved for managing breakthrough pain in the UK, has been identified as an acceptable alternative offering effective, expedient, and less traumatic analgesia for children. However, the current dose regimen in pediatric populations relies on clinical expertise while the pharmacokinetics properties are poorly ...

Near‐resonant excitation of the Adriatic barotropic modes: The seiche events of December 2019
This study examines severe flooding in the northern Adriatic Sea in December 2019, which existing forecasting systems failed to predict. Analysis of wind and sea‐level data, alongside reanalysis datasets and a high‐resolution hydrodynamic model, revealed a wind‐induced resonance mechanism.

Witten Deformation and Divergence-Free Symmetric Killing 2-Tensors
By using a Morse function and a Witten deformation argument, we obtain an upper bound for the dimensions of the space of divergence-free symmetric Killing p-tensors on a closed Riemannian manifold and explicitly calculate it for p=2.

A Discrete Version of Stratified Morse Theory
Classical Morse theory connects the topology of a manifold with critical points of a Morse function. Stratified Morse theory considers the topology of a stratified space with critical points of a stratified Morse function.

ABSTRACT Rationale Ions trapped within a Penning cell (ICR) travel periodic orbits whose frequencies are dependent on their mass‐to‐charge ratio and the value of the magnetic field passing through the trap. Fourier transformation (FT‐ICR) decomposes the signal induced in the detection circuit by the rotation of the ions in the cell after the ...

ABSTRACT Pension funds are the largest combined institutional investors in the world. The integration of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria into defined contribution (DC) pension investments by pension funds can result in sustainable pensions that are in line with pension beneficiary preferences and help achieve Sustainable Development
