Leukoglycemic Index may be a Unique Parameter to Predict Mortality in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction: Single Operator Experience

open access: yesSakarya Tıp Dergisi, 2023
Background and Aim: Predicting high-risk patients is crucial in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). We aimed to investigate whether the leukoglycemic index (LGI) has a unique ability and to compare it with other inflammatory parameters in predicting in ...

Behavioral Resistance in Varroa destructor: First Evidence in Response to Acaricide?

open access: yesArchives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, Volume 122, Issue 3, July 2026.
Varroa mites exhibited population‐dependent behavioral responses: two populationw avoided tau‐fluvalinate, and none showed specific behavioral responses to amitraz and oxalic acid, despite contrasting phenotypical resistance profiles. ABSTRACT The ectoparasite Varroa destructor (Mesostigmata: Varroidae) poses a major threat to honey bee colonies due to

Density‐driven bottlenecks constrain restoration of macroalgal forests

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 7, July 2026.
This single‐species and single‐site experiment provides evidence that high‐density restoration strategies accelerate mortality, suppress growth and delay reproduction, whereas low‐density approaches promote faster demographic progression and resilience. Under the conditions tested here, focusing on growth and reproductive output, rather than maximising

The Effect of Clinical and Radiological Features on Prognosis in the Top of The Basilar Syndrome

open access: yesSakarya Tıp Dergisi, 2021
Objective: The ‘top of the basilar syndrome’ (TOBS) may occur when an embolus impacts in the distal basilar artery. We aimed to investigate the relationship between the clinical, radiological parameters of TOBS, its prognosis, and mortality rates, in ...

Growth, mortality and regeneration responses to ecological forestry treatments are shaped by local factors, species, and initial treatment impact

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 7, July 2026.
In mixed stands, coniferous species showed growth benefits when coexisting with broadleaf species, possibly due to reduced intraspecific competition or improved access to resources mediated by broadleaf neighbours. This growth advantage was not observed for broadleaf species, indicating asymmetric benefits in mixed stands.
