What can we learn from functional clustering of mortality data? An application to HMD data [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Population 37 (2021) 769-798, 2020
In most cases, mortality is analysed considering summary indicators (e.~g. $e_0$ or $e^{\dagger}_0$) that either focus on a specific mortality component or pool all component-specific information in one measure. This can be a limitation, when we are interested to analyse the global evolution of mortality patterns without loosing sight of specific ...

Trends in inequality in length of life in India: a decomposition analysis by age and causes of death

open access: yesGenus, 2017
Background Studies dealing with trends in inequality in length of life in India are rare. Studies documenting the contribution of age and causes of death to the inequality in length of life are more limited. Objective The study aims to examine the trends

Primary extranodal diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma: Molecular features, treatment, and prognosis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, Volume 3, Issue 3-4, Page 133-146, September-December 2022., 2022
One‐third of DLBCL arises from extranodal organs and is challenging to manage. Molecular features are critical to elucidate the differences in clinical features, predict the disease prognosis, and improve effective targeted therapeutic strategies. Abstract Diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common subtype of non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma and ...

Catastrophe Risk in a Stochastic Multi-Population Mortality Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
This paper presents an approach to incorporate mortality shocks into mortality projections produced by a stochastic multi-population mortality model. The proposed model combines a decreasing stochastic mortality trend with a regime-switching mechanism that captures age-specific mortality shocks over a lengthy calibration period.
