Three‐Dimensional Electrical Resistivity Tomography Schemes Optimized for Imaging Wall Foundations

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper describes the application of three‐dimensional electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) in urban environments to detect wall foundations or similar structures. In this study, a specific measurement strategy based on optimized 3D measurement arrays with surface electrodes is proposed and tested.

The Domus Nozze D'Argento in Pompeii: Structural Diagnosis Using Geophysical Methods

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Monitoring of ancient buildings is an issue of great interest in view of a proper restoration. This paper describes the noninvasive monitoring of the Domus Nozze D'Argento in Pompeii. The Roman house, as occurred for many other buildings in Pompei, was buried in the ash from the 79 ad eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Thermal‐Infrared Measurements of the North‐East Tower at Ardrossan Castle

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thermal‐infrared imaging of buildings is used to investigate a range of phenomena including the accumulation of moisture. In general, the presence of moisture poses a direct danger to historic structures and must be characterized prior to any intervention.

Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting Using Bismuth/Bismuth Selenide Nanocomposites

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 20, Issue 6, March 17, 2025.
Bismuth/Bismuth Selenide (Bi/Bi₂Se₃) nanocomposites exhibit enhanced photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting performance due to optimized energy band alignment and efficient charge separation. The figure illustrates the impact of synthesis temperature on bandgap tuning, leading to improved photocatalytic activity and hydrogen evolution.
