Using moss as a bio-indicator to evaluate soil quality in litchi orchard.
Moss, was frequently found growing in litchi orchards. However, less known about whether it can be used as a visual bio-indicator for evaluating soil fertility and health. Therefore, soil chemical and biological properties, microbial community structures

Lattice‐distorted CeOx nanoparticles with abundant oxygen vacancies, confined in porous carbon (d‐CeOx/PC), enable efficient electrocatalytic urea synthesis from CO2 and NO3−. Contracted Ce─O bonds (≈2.29 Å) stabilize OV, creating electron reservoirs for flexible multi‐electron transfer.

Two microwave‐assisted synthetic methods, specifically a one‐pot and a seeded‐growth approach, are developed within a hydroalcoholic solution for the growth of single‐phase ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x colloidal nanocrystals. Both types of nanocrystals show significant photocatalytic activity for 4‐methoxybenzyl alcohol oxidation ...

Multicomponent alloys, such as high‐entropy alloys (HEAs), are considered to be in a random solid solution. However, recent studies have shown that short‐range ordering (SRO) is prevalent in these HEAs due to multipairwise interactions among the constituent elements, which can be deleterious.

The cyanobacterial role in the resistance of feather mosses to decomposition--toward a new hypothesis. [PDF]
Cyanobacteria-plant symbioses play an important role in many ecosystems due to the fixation of atmospheric nitrogen (N) by the cyanobacterial symbiont. The ubiquitous feather moss Pleurozium schreberi (Brid.) Mitt. is colonized by cyanobacteria in boreal

Anode‐free Li–S cells are realized by coupling nano‐Li2S embedded in P‐doped porous carbon nanofibers (Li2S@P‐CNFs) with lithium‐free P‐CNF current collectors. Polar P‐CNFs accelerate Li2S conversion and suppress shuttling, while their lithiophilic, macroporous network homogenizes Li plating for dendrite‐free deposits.
