Water dispersal of methanotrophic bacteria maintains functional methane oxidation in Sphagnum mosses

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2012
It is known that Sphagnum associated methanotrophy (SAM) changes in relation to the peatland water table (WT) level. After drought, rising WT is able to reactivate SAM.

MADS about MOSS [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2009
Classic MIKC-type MADS-box genes (MIKC(c)) play diverse and crucial roles in angiosperm development, the most studied and best understood of which is the specification of floral organ identities. To shed light on how the flower evolved, phylogenetic and functional analyses of genes involved in its ontogeny, such as the MIKC(c) genes, must be undertaken

Nanoscale Mapping of the Subcellular Glycosylation Landscape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using multiplexed super‐resolution imaging with fluorophore‐labeled lectins, this study reports intracellular glycosylation at the nanoscale across organelles and synaptic specializations. Extending glycan analysis beyond the cell surface, Glyco‐STORM reveals distinct glycosylation nanodomains in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and synaptic sites.

Unraveling the Morphological and Functional Maturation Mechanisms Underlying Human Neural Development Using iPSCs‐Derived Neuronal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)‐derived neuronal model, Tian and colleagues reveal that voltage‐gated calcium channels Cav1.2 and Cav1.3, and their mediated calcium ion influx, are essential for early morphogenesis of human neuronal development, while ECEL1 underlies human neuronal functional developmental maturation through CALM3 ...

Comparison of growth and reproduction capacity among five pleurocarpous mosses based on their chlorophyll fluorescent and morphological parameters

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2014
Pleurocarpous mosses have their own preponderance as vertical greening plants because of their special morphological, physiological and ecological traits.

Scalable, Microwave‐Enabled Synthesis of Ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and Heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x Colloidal Nanocrystals: Carrier Dynamics and Photocatalytic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two microwave‐assisted synthetic methods, specifically a one‐pot and a seeded‐growth approach, are developed within a hydroalcoholic solution for the growth of single‐phase ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x colloidal nanocrystals. Both types of nanocrystals show significant photocatalytic activity for 4‐methoxybenzyl alcohol oxidation ...

Transfection of Arctic Bryum sp. KMR5045 as a Model for Genetic Engineering of Cold-Tolerant Mosses

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
Mosses number about 13,000 species and are an important resource for the study of the plant evolution that occurred during terrestrial colonization by plants.
