Moths

Proceedings of the 19th international conference on Parallel architectures and compilation techniques, 2010
As the number of cores integrated on a single chip continues to increase, communication has the potential to become a severe bottleneck to overall system performance. The presence of thread sharing and the distribution of data across cache banks on the chip can result in longdistance communication. Long-distance communication incurs substantial latency

Carob Moth, Lesser Date Moth, and Raisin Moth

2015
Lepidopteran pest species attacking date palms and fruits are problematic in stored dates or in the date garden. Three such species, the carob moth, lesser date moth, and raisin moth, have biologies that are timed with the seasonal occurrence of date fruit.

Miller moth asthma

Clinical & Experimental Allergy, 1981
SummaryThe characteristics of the allergen producing asthma caused by inhaled miller moth particles were investigated by skin testing and by Sephadex fractionation. No major difference in skin test reactivity was found between the wings and the bodies of the moths. Two fractions of the moth extracts were found to contain allergic reactivity.

Female Moth Pheromones

2013
The sex pheromone, a volatile secreted by a female moth, is stored in the pheromone gland and can be easily extracted with hexane. The extract is effectively analyzed using a gas chromatography combined with an electro-antennogram detector (GC-EAD) and a mass spectrometry (GC-MS), both of which are equipped with a capillary column.
