Two uncorrelated random dot patterns were superimposed and alternated to produce dynamic incoherent noise. When a low spatial frequency sine wave grating was optically superimposed on this noise and moved in step with the alternation of the two frames, the incoherent motion was masked and all the dots were seen to adhere to the grating and to move with

2013 35th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2013
The low cost, simple, robust, mobile, and easy to use Mobile Motion Capture (MiMiC) system is presented and the constraints which guided the design of MiMiC are discussed. The MiMiC Android application allows motion data to be captured from kinematic modules such as Shimmer 2r sensors over Bluetooth.

Motion Tracking for Volumetric Motion Capture Data
2019 IEEE 16th International Conference on Mobile Ad Hoc and Sensor Systems Workshops (MASSW), 2019Motion capture is often used to study the biomechanics of human motion. The first step in this type of research is to process and retrieve biomechanical data from the motion capture data. In this paper, we introduce a new method to dynamically track joint locations in volumetrically captured human motion sequences.

Motion capture keyframing by motion change manipulation
2011 8th International Conference on Information, Communications & Signal Processing, 2011Motion capture (mocap) has becoming popular and widely used in various applications. Keyframing is an important tool to select the important frames of the motion sequence to represent the overall motion sequence and regenerate the original motion based on interpolation from the keyframes. In this paper, we would like to propose a new keyframe selection

Motion Onset Captures Attention
Psychological Science, 2003Although visual motion may seem salient, motion per se does not automatically attract attention. We show here, however, that the onset of motion does indeed attract attention. In three experiments, subjects identified target letters in displays that contained targets and distractors.

Simulating Reactive Motions for Motion Capture Animation
2006In this paper, we propose a new method for simulating reactive motions for motion capture animation. The goal is to generate realistic behaviors under unexpected external forces. A set of techniques are introduced to select a motion capture sequence which follows an impact, and then synthesize a believable transition to this found clip for character ...

Motion capture and computer art
International Journal of Arts and Technology, 2008Current advancement in computer-generated animation in particular motion capture has changed the nature of digital animation as a form for designers and digital artists to re-look more than just manipulating a digital tool. This article discusses briefly the relationship between art and science through the ages and discusses their relatively recent re ...
