Optimal control design for robust fuzzy friction compensation in a robot joint [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents a methodology for the compensation of nonlinear friction in a robot joint structure based on a fuzzy local modeling technique. To enhance the tracking performance of the robot joint, a dynamic model is derived from the local physical ...

Decreased cold‐sensing function of the transient receptor potential channel TRPM8 from tailed amphibians

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.

Joint Motion Estimation and Layer Segmentation in Transparent Image Sequences—Application to Noise Reduction in X-Ray Image Sequences

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2009
This paper is concerned with the estimation of the motions and the segmentation of the spatial supports of the different layers involved in transparent X-ray image sequences.

High-precision Motion Compensation Method Based on the Subaperture Envelope Error Correction for SAR

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2015
Small size, light weight, and low power are presently the directions in SAR development. The microSAR platform is small and light, which results in track deviations because of air flow.

3D imaging of moving targets for ultra‐wideband MIMO through‐wall radar system

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2021
Ultra‐wideband (UWB) radar is widely used in static through‐wall imaging (TWI). There are still many imaging problems of motion through‐wall targets for complex system structure and unknown wall environment.

Mapless Online Detection of Dynamic Objects in 3D Lidar

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents a model-free, setting-independent method for online detection of dynamic objects in 3D lidar data. We explicitly compensate for the moving-while-scanning operation (motion distortion) of present-day 3D spinning lidar sensors.

Fibre-coupled multiphoton microscope with adaptive motion compensation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
To address the challenge of sample motion during in vivo imaging, we present a fibre-coupled multiphoton microscope with active axial motion compensation. The position of the sample surface is measured using optical coherence tomography and fed back to a

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Cascade Control of Active Heave Compensation Nonlinear System for Marine Crane

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
During the rough marine environment, heave compensation is used to offset the heave motion of the vessel when a marine crane lifts and lands the load. Thus, load motion and vessel motion are realized decoupled. In previous studies, the interference items

Perception Of Visual Speed While Moving [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
During self-motion, the world normally appears stationary. In part, this may be due to reductions in visual motion signals during self-motion. In 8 experiments, the authors used magnitude estimation to characterize changes in visual speed perception as a
