2016This chapter is an inquiry into the place of the mind and its motions in Francis Bacon’s ontology and in his map of the disciplines. A strong tendency in Baconian scholarship is to suggest that Bacon made the move of attributing the faculties of the mind to the corporeal soul (the spiritus) of man.
