Video magnification in presence of large motions

2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2015
Video magnification reveals subtle variations that would be otherwise invisible to the naked eye. Current techniques require all motion in the video to be very small, which is unfortunately not always the case. Tiny yet meaningful motions are often combined with larger motions, such as the small vibrations of a gate as it rotates, or the microsaccades ...

Edge-Aware Spatial Filtering-Based Motion Magnification

2018
In this paper, we present a novel approach toward motion magnification using edge-aware filtering. Edge-aware filters have been used for applications such as image denoising, enhancement, and tone mapping. In this work, we have used fast local Laplacian filter followed by Eulerian motion magnification for enhancement of subtle changes in the video. The

A Practical Guide to Motion Magnification

Numerous algorithms and software packages have been developed to detect and magnify small motions in video recordings with applications to structural vibration analysis. While some techniques follow naturally from intuition or mathematical duality, others seem overly complex at face value.

Ancient monuments analysis by motion magnification

2019
A new methodology for digital image processing, namely the Motion Magnification, allows to magnify small displacements of large structures. Motion magnification acts like a microscope for motion in video sequences, but affecting only some groups of pixels. The processed videos unveil motions hardly visible with the naked eye.

Video Motion Magnification Using Split Spectrum Processing

2020
