Nonlinear effects on migration of charged spherical rigid/soft particle in an unbounded electrolyte solution

open access: yes, 2011
This paper was presented at the 3rd Micro and Nano Flows Conference (MNF2011), which was held at the Makedonia Palace Hotel, Thessaloniki in Greece.

A supplemental device to return escaping particles to a magnetic mirror reactor

open access: yesEPJ Techniques and Instrumentation, 2018
Cyclotron resonance is now applied as one of the important means for heating plasma in a fusion reactor. We examined this phenomenon from the viewpoint of electron gyration orbits through a solution of the linearized relativistic equation of motion.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Stagnant Dielectric Liquid by the Up and Down Motion of Conductive Particles Induced by Coulomb Forces

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2017
When charged particles are exposed to an electric field the well-known Coulomb force acts on them. In this investigation, this force is utilized to induce vertical motion of spherical steel particles submerged in a dielectric liquid.

Particle Dynamics around Weakly Magnetized Reissner-Nordström Black Hole

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2015
Considering the geometry of Reissner-Nordström (RN) black hole immersed in magnetic field, we have studied the dynamics of neutral and charged particles. A collision of particles in the inner stable circular orbit is considered and the conditions for the

Paraxial optics of charged particles in solenoids

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2020
Paraxial optics of charged particles in solenoid magnets with axisymmetric field is considered. Analytic and symplectic transverse maps for charged particle motion through solenoids with 3D magnetic fields have been derived.

On the motion of a classical charged particle

open access: yes, 2004
We show that the Lorentz-Dirac equation is not an unavoidable consequence of energy-momentum conservation for a point charge. What follows solely from conservation laws is a less restrictive equation already obtained by Honig and Szamosi. The latter is not properly an equation of motion because, as it contains an extra scalar variable, it does not ...

Weak solutions for the electrophoretic motion of charged particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We introduce a weak formulation for a system of electrostatic and hydrodynamic equations modelling the electrophoretic motion of charged particles in ionized fluids.

Grain Refinement During Severe Plastic Deformation and Similitude of Subgrain Formation: A Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular dynamics is used to investigate structure refinement during severe plastic deformation. The results show similitude with experimental data. Molecular dynamics simulations of severe plastic deformation of monocrystalline and polycrystalline samples by multiaxial compression of aluminum are carried out.

Motion of charged particles in an electromagnetic swirling universe: The complete set of solutions [PDF]

open access: yes
We discuss the motion of electrically and magnetically charged particles in the electromagnetic swirling universe. We show that the equations of motion can be decoupled in the Hamilton-Jacobi formalism, revealing the existence of a fourth constant of ...
