Electrically Readable Lateral Flow Assay Using Organic Transistors for Diagnostic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrolyte‐gated organic field‐effect transistors (EGOFETs) are integrated with lateral flow (LF) paper fluidics to create a reusable, portable, and low‐cost point‐of‐care (PoC) diagnostic test. The devices are validated for Human Immunoglobulin G detection, achieving high sensitivity (0.1 fm), selectivity, and reproducibility with rapid results in 20–

Effects of Motion Sickness on Encoding and Retrieval Performance and on Psychophysiological Responses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Motion sickness has previously been found to deteriorate performance. In complex working environments, sustained ability to perform despite motion sickness is crucial. This study focuses on effects of motion sickness on encoding and retrieval

The effect of smoking nicotine tobacco versus smoking deprivation on motion sickness

open access: yes, 2011
BACKGROUND: The experienced smoker maintains adequate nicotine levels by 'puff-by-puff self-control' which also avoids symptomatic nauseating effects of nicotine overdose. It is postulated that there is a varying 'dynamic threshold for nausea' into which

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

THE STUDIES ON MOTION SICKNESS

open access: yesNippon Jibiinkoka Gakkai Kaiho, 1966
These investigations on motion sickness were performed to enlighten the points which have been left obscure in spite of many fundamental studies on the subject.A statistical observation was made by collecting answered questionaires from 977, 602 school children in Osaka Pref. Two point three percentages of them were found to be affected with motion ...

Discomfort of seated persons exposed to low frequency lateral and roll motion

open access: yes, 2012
Passengers of land transport are exposed to horizontal and rotational oscillations at frequencies less than 1 Hz which may cause vibration discomfort and motion sickness.
