Emergent Freestanding Complex Oxide Membranes for Multifunctional Applications
This review surveys freestanding oxide membranes and covers fabrication and three pathways for studies and devices: strain‐free and strained membranes, and van der Waals‐integrated heterostructures. We show how coupled oxide responses map onto these routes and cross‐couple to expand behaviors.

Supporting location-based inquiry learning across school, field and home contexts [PDF]
Here we explore how technology can be applied to support inquiry learning spanning a range of contexts. The development process of a location-based inquiry learning toolset is presented for a secondary school GCSE Geography project.

Phase Diagrams Enable Solid‐State Battery Design
Batteries are non‐equilibrium devices with inherent thermodynamic driving forces to react at interfaces, regardless of kinetics or operating conditions. Chemical potential mismatches across interfaces are dissipated via interfacial reactions. In this work, it is illustrated how phase diagrams and chemical potential maps predict degradation pathways but

Pattern Formation in Non‐Equilibrium Architected Materials
This article demonstrates an artificial mechanical system ‐ a robotic metamaterial ‐ as an accessible and versatile platform within which to explore and prescribe the reaction‐diffusion driven pattern formation hitherto associated with comparatively less accessible and versatile non‐equilibrium biological and chemical systems.

Where do preferences come from? [PDF]
Rational choice theory analyzes how an agent can rationally act, given his or her preferences, but says little about where those preferences come from. Instead, preferences are usually assumed to be .xed and exogenously given.

TADF‐emitting dendrimers promise to enable scalable solution‐based fabrication of efficient electroluminescent devices by the virtue of an attractive set of properties. Here, we report on how light‐emitting electrochemical cells, comprising the TADF‐dendrimer tBuCz2m2pTRZ, can be fabricated by scalable bar‐coating under ambient air and deliver uniform ...
