Cognitive-Motor Abilities of the Elderly Driver
Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 1992This article reviews literature that documents the effects of age on motor performance as it relates to driving behavior. Movement initiation is the focal point of the first part of the article, and it is considered in terms of absolute age differences when functional manipulations are made, such as response preparation, response selection, response ...

RELATION OF PERCEPTUAL-MOTOR ABILITY AND INTELLECTUAL ABILITY IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1967Third- and fourth-grade children were administered a series of perceptual-motor tasks, termed the Figure Reproduction Test, and two tests of intellectual ability, the Pintner Test and Stanford Achievement Test. The results confirm the hypothesis that some children display a motoric style while others are represented by a conceptual style. Low positive,

Bender Visual-Motor Abilities of Slow Learners
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1979The Bender-Gestalt protocols of 134 rural and 140 urban slow learners (IQ 70 to 84) are compared. Rural slow learners performed significantly below their mental ages more frequently than urban slow learners. Rural and urban slow learners performed developmentally below chronological ages, but as expected for mental ages until CA 10 (MA 8).

The Development of Perceptual Motor Sequencing Ability
Journal of Motor Behavior, 1974The purposes of this study were (a) to investigate the possibility that short-term memory may be a limiting factor in the development of perceptual-motor sequencing ability, (b) to determine whether sex differences exist in sequencing ability, (c) to determine whether organized information facilitates serial recall, and (d) to ascertain whether the ...

The Relationship between Perceptual and Motor Abilities
Research Quarterly. American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, 1968Abstract Eighty randomly selected kindergarten pupils were administered one of four figure-ground variations of a gross motor task in order to determine the effects of the various patterns on the performance of the task. All subjects were administered the figure-ground subtest of the Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception and the gross motor ...
