CORRELATIONS BETWEEN ANTHROPOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS AND MOTOR ABILITIES IN ADOLESCENTS WITH POSTURAL DISORDERS AFFECTING THE SAGITTAL PLANE

open access: yesExercise and Quality of Life, 2010
A group of adolescents with postural distortion in the sagittal plane were used as a sample group to study the relations between anthropometric characteristics and motor abilities. The total sample included 202 students (79 boys and 123 girls).

RELATIONS OF MOTOR ABILITY WITH SITUATION-MOTOR ABILITY OF YOUNG FOOTBALLERS

open access: yesSPORT I ZDRAVLJE, 2019
The main objective of this research is to determine the correlation of motor skills and situationalmotorskills of young footballers aged 9 to 10 years. The relationship between predictor variables andcriterion variables is determined by regression analysis. A statistically significant connection of thespace of motor skills with a criterion variable has

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Motor Performance in Children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Speech Sound Disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Purpose: This study sought to determine if (a) children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), other speech sound disorders (SSDs), and typical development (TD) would perform differently on a standardized motor assessment and (b) whether comorbid ...

The acquisition of Sign Language: The impact of phonetic complexity on phonology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Research into the effect of phonetic complexity on phonological acquisition has a long history in spoken languages. This paper considers the effect of phonetics on phonological development in a signed language. We report on an experiment in which nonword-

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
