D.C. motor control

IET Professional Development Course on Electric Traction Systems, 2006
Control systems for d.c. traction motors are well established. The developments in power converters, particularly GTO thyristors and IGBTs, and the use of microprocessor controllers have produced control systems which offer a wide and flexible control range with efficient power conversion, whilst utilising relatively simple control techniques. The main

Automatic Motor Control

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1909
Of the various systems for controlling electric motors, none surpass in interest and economic importance those which make use of electrically actuated switches controlled by automatic or semi-automatic means. A few years ago the drum controller was quite sufficient for any motor then in use.

Modularity for Motor Control and Motor Learning

2016
How the central nervous system (CNS) overcomes the complexity of multi-joint and multi-muscle control and how it acquires or adapts motor skills are fundamental and open questions in neuroscience. A modular architecture may simplify control by embedding features of both the dynamic behavior of the musculoskeletal system and of the task into a small ...

On Primitives in Motor Control

Motor Control, 2020
The concept of primitives has been used in motor control both as a theoretical construct and as a means of describing the results of experimental studies involving multiple moving elements. This concept is close to Bernstein’s notion of engrams and level of synergies.

On induction motors control

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 1997
This paper deals with the control of induction motors. First we show that field-oriented control can be simplified by considering the modulus square of the flux, namely F=f/sup 2/=/spl phi//sub a//sup 2/+/spl phi//sub b//sup 2/ instead of f. Second, we perform an input-output linearizing control without using any of Lie derivatives.

Analysis and control of the synchronous motor as a control motor

1992
Abstract The synchronous motor has been used for many years as a constant speed motor. Owing to remarkable advancements in inverter technique, inverter output voltage, current, and frequency can now be controlled very easily and quickly, and thus the synchronous motor is now used more and more as a fast response servomotor.
