FRACTIONAL-SLOT CONCENTRATED-WINDING SURFACE-MOUNTED PERMANENT MAGNET MOTOR DESIGN AND ANALYSIS FOR IN-WHEEL APPLICATION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The study on the driving cycle and powertrain of electric vehicle presents the conclusion that there is a regular working area on efficiency map where electric motor works for the most time.

Research on cascaded multilevel converters for dual motor drive systems based on a nine‐switch converter

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
In order to address the issues of complexity, high cost, large volume, and low reliability associated with traditional H‐bridge cascaded converters when operating under high voltage, high capacity, and dual electric motor loads, the authors propose the ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Asynchronous performance analysis of a single-phase capacitor-start, capacitor-run permanent magnet motor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This work presents a detailed analysis of the asynchronous torque components (average cage, magnet braking torque and pulsating) for a single-phase capacitor-start, capacitor-run permanent magnet motor.

ISCAD — Design, control and car integration of a 48 volt high performance drive

open access: yesCES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2019
Through its new technology the ISCAD system provides up to 300 kW with a safe-to-touch 48 Volt battery. This results in a high-performance drive that is intrinsically electrically safe. The novel machine design requires new concepts for power electronics,

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Sensorless position estimation in fault-tolerant permanent magnet AC motor drives with redundancy.

open access: yes, 2010
Safety critical applications are heavily dependent on fault-tolerant motor drives being capable of continuing to operate satisfactorily under faults.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
