Mechanical states of a motor protein in the spindle
Motor proteins perform essential roles in spindle assembly and division, but little is known about the forces that motors produce in spindles. Here, we report new tension sensors designed to measure loads across a kinesin-14 motor protein that both slides and crosslinks microtubules in spindles.

Chromosomal Instability Drives Glioblastoma Heterogeneity and Therapeutic Opportunities
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal form of brain cancer, is defined by profound genomic instability, with Chromosomal Instability (CIN) playing a central role in driving tumor progression, therapy resistance, and poor prognosis. CIN is characterized by numerical and structural alterations, is driven by mechanisms such as mitotic ...

Microtubule motors in eukaryotic spindle assembly and maintenance
The main function of the mitotic spindle is to accurately segregate replicated chromosomes during cell division. This dynamic, microtubule-based structure is assembled by a dividing cell and facilitates the orchestrated movement of chromosomes that is the hallmark of mitosis. Steady-state spindle size and morphology are relatively constant for cells of

A graphene oxide/collagen scaffold is developed for chronic massive rotator cuff tear repair. The scaffold improves compressive stability, supports reparative mesenchymal differentiation, and modulates the immune microenvironment. In chronic MRCT models, it reduces muscle degeneration, enhances tendon–bone regeneration, and improves functional recovery,

An integrated computational screening strategy identified ursolic acid (UA) and 18β‐glycyrrhetinic acid (18βGA) as a self‐assembling food‐derived molecular pair. The resulting carrier‐free nanoparticles (UA‐18βGA) showed synergistic antiparasitic activity, reduced combined toxicity, and host‐protective anti‐inflammatory effects in zebrafish and murine ...

Tightly focused laser irradiation can accumulate tubulin proteins at/around the laser focus, which leads to the formation of highly ordered microtubule assemblies. The assemblies can exhibit various dynamic behaviors such as radial motion, bundling, and flagella‐like rotation with motor protein and chemical energy, highlighting as a unique tool for ...

This study confirms that GGT1 is a key driver of neuronal ferroptosis following spinal cord injury. We developed NSCm@EA, a biomimetic delivery system coated with neural stem cell membranes, for precise delivery of enocyanin to injured neurons. By combining targeted delivery with ubiquitination degradation mechanisms, this system promotes MGRN1 ...
