Variation in wing and tail moult intensity in white‐chinned petrels
The cost of moult is substantial, and the timing and intensity of flight feather moult can influence survival and fitness, especially in large, long‐winged species such as many seabirds. We explore variation in wing and tail moult in > 2400 white‐chinned

Local adaptation to annually changing environments has evolved in numerous species. Seasonal coat colour change is an adaptation that has evolved in multiple mammal and bird species occupying areas that experience seasonal snow cover.

Passerines moult during various life-cycle stages. Some of these moults involve the retention of a variable quantity of wing and tail feathers. This prompts the question whether these partial moults are just arrested complete moults or follow different ...

We present a strategy to enhance magnetic hyperthermia therapy by modulating nanoparticle–cell interactions. Antibody‐functionalized magnetic nanoparticles targeting the low‐internalizing CCR9 receptor enable spatially controlled membrane anchoring, reducing aggregation and maximizing heat generation under alternating magnetic fields.

Birds exhibit a vast array of colours and ornaments and while much work has focused on understanding the function and evolution of carotenoid‐based colours (red, orange, yellow), structural colouration (blue, green, purple, iridescent) can also play a ...

Intense red colours in birds are often owing to ketocarotenoids (KCs). In many land birds, KCs are oxidized from dietary yellow precursors, presumably by the avian carotenoid ketolase CYP2J19, the regulation and constraints of which have important ...

Oxygen and ROS Delivery for Infected Wound Healing and Future Prospects
Bacterial infection is a major driver of delayed wound healing and postsurgical readmissions; with rising antibiotic resistance, solid peroxide–releasing biomaterials offer sustained delivery of ROS/O2 for antimicrobial control and microenvironmental modulation.

Moult and age determination criteria of the monk parakeet (Myiopsitta monachus)
Age determination of the invasive monk parakeet Myiopsitta monachus has been hampered by its juvenile plumage showing only subtle differences from subsequent plumages, and little is known about its moult.
