Real‐Time In Vivo Monitoring of Anastomotic Intestinal Ischemia Using Implantable Resorbable Organic Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Resorbable impedance sensors are successfully implanted into porcine small intestinal anastomoses. Impedance was recorded for 2 hours prior, and 2 hours following ischemia induction, and a significant drop in tissue impedance was observed. Abstract Anastomotic failure remains one of the most severe complications in gastrointestinal surgery.

Discovery of SKP2‐Recruiting PROTACs for Target Protein Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the SKP2‐targeting ligand SL1, we designed non‐covalent PROTACs by linking it with the BRD4 inhibitor JQ1 and the AR antagonist AL through a linker. These PROTACs successfully induced the ubiquitination of BRD4 and AR, followed by proteasome‐mediated degradation.

First observations of emperor penguins on Horseshoe Island, Antarctica

open access: yesPolar Research, 2023
This note reports observations of two moulting emperor penguins (Aptenodytes forsteri) on Horseshoe Island, West Antarctica, during the Seventh Turkish Antarctic Expedition in February 2023. This is the first time this species has been documented on this

Iron/Cobalt Dual‐Atom Catalyst Orchestrate Photothermal‐Chemodynamic Immunotherapy Against MRSA: Multi‐Omics Dissection in Murine and Porcine Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FeCo dual‐atom catalyst (FeCo‐N‐DAC) with ultrahigh metal loading (Fe > 5.4%, Co > 4.8%) is developed for synergistic photothermal‐chemodynamic immunotherapy. FeCo‐N‐DAC penetrates deep‐seated tissues, eradicates MRSA biofilms, and reprograms immune‐inflammatory pathways via multi‐omics‐validated mechanisms.

Setogenesis and characterization of the new moult substages in the freshwater shrimp Palaemon argentinus (Nobili, 1901) (Caridea: Palaemonidae)

open access: yesNauplius, 2019
The moult cycle of crustaceans is continuous and during different stages of this cycle, physiological, biochemical and morphological changes occur. Therefore, understanding the different stages of the moult cycle in the target species becomes critical ...

Non-Global Logarithms, Factorization, and the Soft Substructure of Jets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
An outstanding problem in QCD and jet physics is the factorization and resummation of logarithms that arise due to phase space constraints, so-called non-global logarithms (NGLs). In this paper, we show that NGLs can be factorized and resummed down to an

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doehl et al. discovered an adaptive neuroimmune mechanism that induces itch in tick‐exposed guinea pigs, enabling rapid tick removal. This itch‐induced tick removal (IITR) is mediated by an adaptive cellular immune response and is independent of IgG, IgE, or TRPV1.

Progressive ontogenetic niche shift over the prolonged immaturity period of wandering albatrosses [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2017
Very little is known about trophic ontogenetic changes over the prolonged immaturity period of long-lived, wide-ranging seabirds. By using blood and feather trophic tracers (δ13C and δ15N, and mercury, Hg), we studied age-related changes in feeding ...

Direct Recycling of Mixed‐Oxide Cathodes: Balancing Cost, Performance and Environmental Trade‐Offs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Direct regeneration routes for mixed‐oxide lithium‐ion battery cathodes are systematically compared using harmonized techno‐economic, electrochemical, and environmental metrics. Solid‐state, hydrothermal, molten salt, electrochemical, and chemical relithiation methods are benchmarked to identify performance, cost, and sustainability trade‐offs.
