Evaluation of the Feasibility of Harvest Optimisation of Soft-Shell Mud Crab (Scylla paramamosain) from the Perspective of Nutritional Values

open access: yesFoods, 2023
Soft-shell crabs have attracted consumers’ attention due to their unique taste and nutritional value. To evaluate the feasibility of harvest optimisation of soft-shell mud crabs, the proximate composition, mineral composition, and total carotenoid, amino

Ethological investigation on moulting laying hens in organic farming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Introduction Organic egg farmers mainly rely on the same hybrids, breeding techniques and production schemes as conventional egg producers. This includes annual replacement of the laying hens.

Enhancing Magnetic Hyperthermia at the Cell Membrane by Anchoring 92R‐Functionalized Magnetic Nanoparticles to Low‐Endocytic CCR9 Surface Receptors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We present a strategy to enhance magnetic hyperthermia therapy by modulating nanoparticle–cell interactions. Antibody‐functionalized magnetic nanoparticles targeting the low‐internalizing CCR9 receptor enable spatially controlled membrane anchoring, reducing aggregation and maximizing heat generation under alternating magnetic fields.

Tropical rock lobster (Panulirus ornatus) uses chemoreception via the antennular lateral flagellum to identify conspecific ecdysis

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The tropical rock lobster, Panulirus ornatus, is a commercially important aquaculture species exhibiting complex social interactions in laboratory culture, including cannibalism of moulting conspecifics.

Optimális éves viselkedési modellek: út a fiziológiától a populációkig? = Optimal annual routines: a path from physiology to populations? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A pályázat fő célja annak kiderítése volt, hogy a különböző állapotváltozók hogyan befolyásolják az optimális viselkedést, speciálisan a hogyan befolyásolják a fő életmenet események időzítését az éves cikluson belül. E cél elérése érdekében több modellt

MicroRNA‐375‐3p Targets Fatty Acid Synthase and Relish to Regulate Energy Allocation During Pupal Metamorphosis and Starvation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During pupal metamorphosis and starvation, elevated 20‐hydroxyecdysone (20E) and suppressed insulin trigger Forkhead box O (FOXO) nuclear translocation, enhancing miR‐375‐3p expression. This downregulates fatty acid synthase (FASN) and Relish, promoting lipid breakdown for energy while prioritizing antioxidant responses over immune functions to support

Birds of three worlds: moult migration to high Arctic expands a boreal-temperate flyway to a third biome

open access: yesMovement Ecology, 2021
Background Knowledge on migration patterns and flyways is a key for understanding the dynamics of migratory populations and evolution of migratory behaviour. Bird migration is usually considered to be movements between breeding and wintering areas, while

Practical application of sea urchin shell flour supplementation as a stimulant moulting in vannamei shrimp

open access: yesDepik Jurnal, 2021
The practical application of waste recycling as feed supplement is potentially required by small-scale aquaculturist. Furthermore, some of the flour derived from waste sea urchin shells and in adopted in feed, including Deadema setosum were evaluated to ...

Density-dependent effect on reproductive behaviour of Lysmata amboinensis and L. boggessi (Decapoda: Caridea: Hippolytidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We compared the reproductive behaviours of two protandric simultaneous hermaphroditic species (Lysmata amboinensis and L. boggessi) that belong to two groups of Lysmata shrimp with different morphology, geographical distribution, and density.
