Beyond the Mountain Pass: Some Applications
Abstract We will survey three applications of the famous Mountain Pass Lemma by Antonio Ambrosetti and Paul H. Rabinowitz, [6]. Precisely, we will present some results on the following problems: A model of growth and roughening of surfaces, usually called Kardar-Parisi-Zhang model. A supercritical problem

Nonlinear eigenvalues and mountain pass methods
The authors give a detailed account of mountain pass lemmas for \(C^ 1\) functionals \(G\) on a Hilbert space, where the admissible paths are restricted to fixed regions. A typical example for such a region is the set \(\{u\): \(u\in H\), \(F(u)\leq R\}\), where \(F\) is another \(C^ 1\) functional and \(R>0\).

A point‐of‐care testing method based on solvent‐responsive magnetic beads suitable for large‐area diagnosis and mutation screening in remote areas was developed to detect it by combining bioluminescenct pyrophosphate in real‐time technology and recombinase‐aid amplification technology.

Planning and Control Framework for a Quadruped Robot With Changeable Configuration
Multiconfiguration quadruped robots enhance adaptability by switching between mammal‐like and reptile‐like morphologies. This study presents a nonlinear constraint‐based motion planner integrated with a hierarchical whole‐body controller, enabling robust configuration switching and locomotion on complex terrains. Experiments on slopes, irregular bricks,

Wind‐driven seed dispersal differentially promotes seed trapping and retention across alpine plants
Abstract Premise Seed dispersal can mediate species interactions between plants across life stages. Plants can physically stop seed movement (seed trapping) and prevent further dispersal following entrapment (seed retention). We therefore hypothesized seed trapping and retention rates depend on the physical attributes of interacting seeds and plants ...

Structural problems without structural solutions? Youth leaders' perceptions of their community
Abstract As young people explore and reflect on the conditions of their neighborhoods and communities, they can forge a critical consciousness—merging their perspectives and analysis to direct both individual and collective actions. Photovoice is a methodological tool that allows participants to document their perspectives and analysis and discuss with

Mountain pass solutions for a mean field equation from two-dimensional turbulence
Using Struwe's "monotonicity trick" and the recent blow-up analysis of Ohtsuka and Suzuki, we prove the existence of mountain pass solutions to a mean field equation arising in two-dimensional turbulence.Comment: 13 ...

ABSTRACT Background Since 1997 the Building Trades National Medical Screening Program (BTMed) has offered medical exams to construction workers employed in US nuclear weapons facilities. The process consists of two steps: (1) a detailed work history interview; and (2) a medical exam.
