High Fat Low Carbohydrate Diet Is Linked to CNS Autoimmunity Protection
Mapping global epidemiological data to macronutrient supply reveals high carbohydrate, in contrast to high fat supply, associates with increased multiple sclerosis (MS) prevalence and incidence. This is confirmed in a mouse MS model, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), using isocaloric diets: a high carbohydrate diet aggravates, a high ...

Self‐Adaptive Reflectance Film for Passive Temperature Regulation in Diverse Environments
The rising demand for space cooling calls for innovative passive thermal systems. Traditional radiative cooling materials lack efficiency and alignment with cooling needs, limiting their energy‐saving. A smart film (PFSF) that integrates radiative cooling, reflectance tuning, and phase transition, offering adaptable temperature control across climates ...

Impacts of Climate Change on Mountaineering Routes in the Écrins Massif (Western Alps, France)
Mountaineering is one of the most affected sports activities due to the current climate crisis and the resulting changes in the physical environment of the high mountain areas. Some routes have disappeared while others are no longer accessible in summer (

Some principles for mountain pass algorithms, and the parallel distance [PDF]
The problem of computing saddle points is important in certain problems in numerical partial differential equations and computational chemistry, and is often solved numerically by a minimization problem over a set of mountain passes. We point out that a good global mountain pass algorithm should have good local and global properties.

Human Factors in High-Altitude Mountaineering [PDF]
We describe the human performance and cognitive challenges of high altitude mountaineering. The physical (environmental) and internal (health) stresses are first described, followed by the motivational factors that lead people to climb. The statistics of

Manipulating the Light Systemic Signal HY5 Greatly Improve Fruit Quality in Tomato
This study establishes that HY5, activated by low‐dose light, acts as a systemic signal to enhance tomato fruit quality by directly promoting carotenoid synthesis and sugar metabolism. These findings demonstrate HY5's mobility from leaves to fruits and its application potential through nighttime LED lighting, offering a practical strategy for crop ...
