AbstractThe aim of this work was to investigate the efficiency of transporting the orally inactive renin inhibitor A-64662 through oral mucosa-floor of mouth, cheek, or gum-using the dog as an animal model. It has been demonstrated that A-64662, can be effectively delivered to the bloodstream through mouth mucosa with various dosage forms.

Journal of Dentistry, 1980This study demonstrates that meaningful quantitative histological examination can be undertaken on post-mortem specimens. Care is required to avoid tissue damage and to minimize autolytic changes. Quantitative results are presented of examination of oral mucosa at two sites in the edentulous mouth.

We report a duplication cyst at the floor of the mouth, lined by esophageal epithelium and treated successfully by surgical excision. To our knowledge, this is the third case of intraoral enteric duplication cysts lined with esophageal epithelium reported in the literature.
