Medical interface, 1994The hospice was originally a rest place for travelers. Today, hospice care refers to care for the terminally ill and their families. Hospice care has evolved in the last 30 years; it now comprises an array of services, including home care, special hospital programs, and new autonomous hospices--to care for the terminally ill.
