Paclitaxel induces NM2‐dependent cellular contraction through GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and RhoA/ROCK activation in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Mutant p53R273H disrupts PDPK1 homodimerization and contributes to PDPK1 activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
How mutant p53R273H drives AKT signaling is unclear. We show that p53R273H, but not wild‐type, directly binds PDPK1 via a mutation‐dependent conformational change. This interaction disrupts inhibitory PDPK1 homodimerization and enhances AKT phosphorylation.

Acute effects of predominantly inertial load-induced post-activation potentiation on upper-body muscle mechanics: implications for racket sports performance

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living
IntroductionThis study investigated the acute effects of post-activation potentiation (PAP) induced by predominantly inertial loading on upper-body muscle mechanics, with particular consideration for applications in racket sports performance ...

Experiment study of mud to the moving process influent about viscous debris flow along slope

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Mud is the main component of viscous debris flow. The physical model experiments of viscous debris flow were carried out through the mixing mud with different density and fixed components of coarse particles. The width, longitudinal movement distance and

Correlation between temporal-spatial parameters and manual ability of adults with dyskinetic cerebral palsy

open access: yesFisioterapia e Pesquisa, 2014
The aim of this study was to verify relation between kinematic variables of temporal-spatial parameters and manual ability and between own temporal-spatial variables during the movement of bring a mug to the mouth in adults with dyskinetic cerebral palsy

Submovement control processes in discrete aiming as a function of space-time constraints. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
There is preliminary evidence that there are several types of submovements in movement aiming that reflect different processes of control and can result from particular task constraints.

First-Repetition Mechanical Performance Retention During Repeated Bench Press Following Standard- and Cambered-Bar Warm-Ups

open access: yesJournal of Functional Morphology and Kinesiology
Background: Exercise-specific warm-up may influence fatigue-related performance decline and the restoration of performance between repeated resistance-training sets. This study examined whether a cambered-bar warm-up, compared with a standard-bar warm-up,
