Large‐Scale Applications of Plasma Technologies: Progresses and Challenges
ABSTRACT Plasma technologies convert electrical power into energetic electrons, ions, reactive species, radiation and heat, thereby breaking through the bottleneck of purely thermal or chemical routes and bringing impressive changes to our world. This roadmap reviews the progress and challenges of plasma technologies from a large‐scale and application ...

Post denitrification in a moving bed biofilm reactor process
The Sjölunda wastewater treatment plant in Malmö Sweden will have to comply with future effluent standards of less than 10 mg BOD7/l, 8 mg N/l and 0.3 mg P/l. The upgrading for enhanced nutrient removal will be based on a site-specific concept where a tertiary treatment step for post-denitrification will be required.

Hybrid moving bed biofilm reactors: a pilot plant experiment
The growing increment of the urbanization and, on the other hand, the even more strict effluent limits imposed by the Water Framework Directive for the receiving water body quality state have led to the need for upgrading several existing WWTP. With this respect HMBBR systems are an innovative solution since they allow to upgrade existing high loaded ...
