Application of a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor in Removal of Ciprofloxacin From Real Hospital Effluent: Effect of Operational Conditions [PDF]
The presence of pharmaceutical wastewater containing antibiotic compound is one of the new problems relating to the environmental pollution. Antibiotic ciprofloxacin (CIP), widely used in medical treatments, can induce antibiotic resistance in low ...

Laundry waste water contains a lot of surfactants, Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose (CMC), calcium (Ca), phosphate (P), SiO32-, clothes bleach, if discharged directly the environment has a harmful effect on the environment. If not processed it will cause excessive growth of algae or aquatic plants (eutrophication).

EFISENSI PENGOLAHAN LIMBAH CAIR HOTEL MENGGUNAKAN MOVING BED BIOFILM REACTOR (MBBR) [PDF]
Abstract The increase in the number of hotels in Pontianak City has a impact, namely the increase in the generation of wastewater. The hotel wastewater treatment process is widely used by hotels in Pontianak, especially at the Aston hotel, which already has a sewage treatment plant with suspended biological treatment.

Biofilm characterization and dynamic simulation of advanced rope media reactor for the treatment of primary effluent. [PDF]
This study aimed to characterize and model the biofilm of a specific rope‐type fixed media, removing carbon and total nitrogen. The presented results have shown that the calibrated BFFR model can predict effluent ammonium and dissolved oxygen for the bench‐scale and pilot‐scale reactors.

Evaluation of alternative electron donors for denitrifying moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBRs)
The effectiveness of four different electron donors, specifically methanol, ethanol, glycerol, and sulfide (added as Na2S), were evaluated in post-denitrifying bench-scale moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBRs). With the requirement for more wastewater treatment plants to reach effluent total nitrogen levels approaching 3 mg/L, alternative electron donors
