Performance of Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR) at Different Organic and Hydraulic Loadings
Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) is a modification of activated sludge process. The process has an aeration tank with synthetic carrier element and no sludge recycling from the clarifier. In this study, MBBR process is defined and its performance under different hydraulic and organic loadings was revealed as organic matter removal, nitrogen removal ...

An update on hybrid membrane aerated biofilm reactor technology
The hybrid membrane aerated biofilm reactors (MABR) process combines the advantages of the counter‐diffusional biofilm and bubbleless aeration of the MABR with the good bioflocculation and carbon process capabilities of suspended growth processes. Features, recent advances, and future opportunities for this rapidly evolving technology are reviewed ...

The application of Monod equation to denitrification kinetics description in the moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) [PDF]
In this paper, the kinetic constants Vmax and KCOD occurring in the Monod equation, which describe the denitrification process in the moving bed, are determined. For this purpose, a laboratory moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) was used. The filling of the reactor consisted of EvU Perl carriers.

Biological reject water treatment by using moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBR)
In this study two moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBRs) (i.e. the reactors called R1 and R2 respectively) were subjected to treat reject water from sludge dewatering. Such biological treatment was investigated for possible improvements of discharge water quality to reduce disturbance on, and enhance the main coagulation process.
