A Method for Solving Moving Boundary Problems
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1986A method is proposed for treating Stefan problems by solving two boundary value problems with moving sources whose strengths and positions become the unknowns. In the one (space) dimensional case three coupled nonlinear integral equations for the unknown source strengths and the position of the moving boundary are obtained by the use of fundamental ...

A MOVING BOUNDARY PROBLEM IN A STOCHASTIC MEDIUM
Infinite Dimensional Analysis, Quantum Probability and Related Topics, 1999Suppose a fluid is pumped into a heterogeneous medium in ℝdat a known rate and that there is a known initial wet region D(0) (region filled with fluid) at time t=0. What is the wet region, D(t), at a later time t and what is the pressure, p(t,x), at this time and at the point x∈D(t)?

A Moving Boundary Problem in a Finite Domain
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1990The heat conduction and the moving solid-liquid interface in a finite region is studied numerically. A Fourier series expansion is used in both phases for spatial temperature distribution, and the differential equations are converted to an infinite number of ordinary differential equations in time.
